The SoleCentre has been busy and full of chatter and giggles, which seems like a far cry from the reality of what our SoleBuddies are living with. Having the kids at the centre is a beautiful reminder that even in really hard times, laughter is a wonderful medicine.
Our SoleBuddies at the Care and Recovery Centre are either staying with us for their own treatments or are keeping sick family members company while they undergo treatment – we consider everyone part of the SoleFamily!
Over the last few months, we’ve been watching the friendships develop and grow as they teach other games, share stories about their day, and most importantly, share hugs and laughs when they are needed most. It’s not a medicine that can be prescribed but you just need to check out the cheeky smiles to see that these friendships and the laughter are certainly helping our SoleBuddies to heal – and listening to the giggles echoing throughout the centre is a joy for everyone!
WORDS OF WISDOM FROM OUR FOUNDERS
“ The bravery and resilience of our SoleFamilies never fails to amaze me. Their lives are challenging, stories unique but all are faced with dignity. True heroes.” – Sarah
“ SoleFamily Bali’s Care and Recovery Centre makes it possible for children and their families to stay in a safe, comfortable and convenient environment before, during and immediately after undergoing treatments at hospital. So proud that we are able to help, care for and give valuable hope to so many people.” – Robert

BABY LUKAS
Baby Lukas needs help urgently
At just 3 months of age, Lukas has spent more time at a hospital than any child should. Lukas appears to have fluid accumulation and a hernia, and while it’s clear he needs surgery, he needs to see various specialists first to determine the underlying cause of the fluid and hernia.
Lukas’ mother isn’t working and his father earns the equivalent of $300 AUD per month. They have no BPJS insurance to cover their medical costs or treatment. We will update you as Lukas has further tests and assessments but for now, we need to support his health and development with high-quality milk.
$120 AUD or Rp 1,200,000 per month will cover the tins of Infatrini that Lukas needs.
If you can help little Lukas and his family in any way, it all adds up

YUDI & HENDRA
Yudi and Hendra have been under our care for quite some time as they suffer from a genetic skin disease called epidermolysis bullosa. Yudi and Hendra have already lost one brother due to this horrible disease.
They are regular visitors to Sanglah Hospital for assessment, often staying at the SoleCentre, and the outreach team do home check-ups in between hospital visits. We desperately need sponsorship for these two boys which will include Rp 1,300,000 for Ensure and Pediasure, Rp 300,000 for VCO oil for their fragile skin, and Rp 800,000 for a family food parcel.
Please help Yudi and Hendra find some happiness, these boys deserve more smiles
